LOVE ISLAND

As we know, Love Island is finally returning this year, and now we're just waiting to find out who is going to be strutting into the villa - ready to take people aside for chats and couple up. Rumours are already swirling, it was reported{ =nofollow}a couple of weeks ago that the show had lined up its first contestant professional boxer Harley Benn, the son of boxing legend Nigel.

And now, another contestant has reportedly been revealed. How exciting. So, who is it?

Toluwa Adepeju, 25, is said to be the show's latest recruit - and amazingly, the doctor worked 70 hour weeks as a junior doctor, helping on the Covid frontline. What a hero. According to The Sun, Toluwa also issued Covid advice to students as the pandemic and has urged people to get vaccinated .'He’s led from the very front - in hospital and online, educating people of the risks and the need to get vaccinated,' a source told the paper. 'He is a perfect pick. He’s modest, down to earth and loves what he does.' Grazia has contacted Love Island for comment, who have said: 'No decisions have been made on the line up for this year's Love Island.'

Of course, if reports are correct, Toluwa wouldn't be the first doctor to swap scrubs for swimming trunks. Dr Alex George went on the series in 2018, and, since, has helped out with the country's coronavirus efforts and become an ambassador for the government, working to improve mental health resources.

Speaking to Grazia about his unpaid role earlier in the year, Alex said it was important NHS staff were supported by the government. 'We need to consider the mental health of staff after this kind of pandemic, and we can't just forget about that,' he said{ =nofollow}. 'We need to make sure we're supporting them correctly. We need to actually put funding into it, so we can ring fence support for them.'
