Under the name Love Fame Tragedy, Murph from The Wombats is releasing a new EP - and it has some very unexpected guests on it.

The project - which the singer has been working on for the past two years - features collaborations from Dan from Bastille, Pixies’ Joey Santiago, alt-J’s Gus Unger-Hamilton and Lauren Aquilina.

But the first track, My Cheating Heart, was written with model Suki Waterhouse's sister Maddi, who features on the single.

Speaking after his secret set at Reading Festival, he exclusively told Grazia that Maddi was offered the song a year after he wrote a song with Suki a year earlier.

'I wrote a song with Suki when I was in LA two years ago and I don’t think I was briefed very well on the music she wanted to make,' Murph told us.

'Now I’ve listened to Suki's stuff, and at the time, I thought that’s very newbie and artsy - and maybe I took it too much in that direction.'

Murph added that maybe the track they wrote together was 'too poppy' for the model-slash-actress.

'I love her voice and she came to the studio in south London for a few hours,' he added, talking about recording the track with Maddi. 'And basically she just sang over all the songs I had at the time and we picked the best bits.'

The frontman also expects the pair to continue pursuing music, and praised their 'amazing voices'.

He added, 'I’m speaking on their behalf right now. Obviously, they’ve got really busy lives, but Suki put out some great songs on Spotify and Maddie’s got some great songs on the pipeline.

'And I think they are interested in going into music, I mean they’re both uber cool, with amazing voices. I don’t think the music industry will treat them too harshly.'

Talking about the upcoming EP, Murph says he doesn't want it to come across as just a solo project, adding, 'It’s kind of like a solo project, but at the same time I don’t want it to come across like that.

'I want it to come across as much more exciting and I thought what better way than to utilise other talented people.'

But fans of The Wombats don't need to worry, as the singer promises that new songs from the band will be released in November.

I Don't Want To Play The Victim, But I'm Really Good At It is out on September 27.
