It seems that this Christmas, Love Actually actually is all around. Instead of watching Richard Curtis’ schmaltzy festive classic on one of its inevitable ITV2 re-runs throughout the yuletide period, why not snap up tickets for a screening sound-tracked by a live orchestra?

Dates for the Love Actually Live Concert Tour have just been announced, making all of our Christmassy dreams come true. It will kick off in Manchester’s Bridgewater Hall on December 1st before travelling to concert venues around the United Kingdom, concluding with a double whammy of performances in London on December 10th.

Love Actually

A full orchestra will play along to composer Craig Armstrong’s soundtrack, doubtless ramping up the tear-jerk potential of the film’s many poignant scenes – as well as the wedding flash mob to 'All You Need Is Love,' as seen in Love Actually’s opening moments.

Tickets will be priced between £39.50 and £65 outside London, while screenings in the capital start at £35 and go up to £70. They’ll be available for pre-sale at 10am on September 20th, then on general release at the same time on the following day. Snap them up from Ticketmaster or direct from the venue’s website, but make sure you’re quick: sound-tracked screenings like this one have a habit of selling out in a matter of moments. Just consider it an early Christmas present to yourself. To paraphrase the not-at-all creepy written cards that Mark (Andrew Lincoln) shows to Juliet (Keira Knightley) in one of the film’s most-parodied scenes, ‘This, to us, is perfect’ – you’ll find us carefully crafting a ‘third lobster’ outfit or channelling the film’s sartorial spirit by investing in a new wardrobe of turtle necks.
