Lorde And Ellie Goulding Don’t Want You To Know They’re Cool With Katy Perry

You know that feud between Taylor Swift and Katy Perry? Well, it’s so big it spawned the song Bad Blood. (The long and short of it is Taylor’s fuming that Katy Perry stole a couple of her dancers, yet pretends they’re mates when they see each other). And in the video, you’ll remember Taylor and her army of friends take on an enemy as played by Selena Gomez (who’s her mate, it’s fine).

Anyway, one of those friends was Ellie Goulding. And another mate who was blatantly missing, simply due to time constraints was Lorde. But, lo and behold, what’s this? Lorde and Ellie still had time for Katy Perry, hanging out with her in a photo they both posted to Instagram.

The photo, which shows Lorde in a red dress and posing like the emoji red dress lady (never gets old), was swiftly (get it) deleted from both stars’ accounts after commenters waded in with gems like ‘Lorde & Ellie Goulding have guaranteed Bad Blood 2 to be written about them on Taylor’s next album.’

In their defence, Ellie had explained via the caption on hers that she was too drunk to have remembered the night when the photo was taken, reports* The Mirror* – they were all out partying in LA, FYI. But she and Lorde and Katy all have history. They co-DJed at a party at the Brits a few years ago and it looks as if even that flimsy bond between the three has yet to be fully destroyed by Taylor.

If it all sounds a bit Mean Girls, well, according to Katy, it is. She once said at around the time Taylor first called her a ‘straight-up enemy’: ‘Watch out for the Regina George in sheep’s clothing’.
