If we weren’t already excited enough for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 movie, we’re beside ourselves now because we’ve just heard Lorde is curating the soundtrack.

In addition to choosing songs to accompany the film, the 17-year-old will record the lead song from the movie, which is the third in the series.

The singer released a statement confirming the news, saying that the songs she chooses will ‘surprise people’

‘Curating the soundtrack for such a hotly-anticipated film was a challenge, but I jumped at the chanceThe cast and story are an inspiration for all musicians participating and, as someone with cinematic leanings, being privy to a different creative process has been a unique experience. I think the soundtrack is definitely going to surprise people,’ she said.

The Hunger Games people tapped Taylor Swift to record the main song for the first movie in the franchise, and Coldplay recorded the lead track from The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. We think Lorde is far and above the most appropriate choice so far, though. In fact, we can’t think of anyone more perfect.

The only annoying bit is how long we have to wait for this whole collaboration to come out—The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 doesn’t come out until November 21.
