Lily-Rose Depp seems to have become fashion's new darling overnight - genes courtesy of dad Johnny Depp and mum Vanessa Paradis definitely help. But despite being so sought-after, she's remained relatively tight-lipped amid all the media attention. So an interview in which she discussed the 'media circus 'and her acting ambitions backstage at Chanel's SS16 show is a rare insight into the up-and-comers mind.
Taling to* i-D *at the Chanel show she seems pretty unphased by all the recent attention. "I grew up with the media circus," she told the magazine. "My whole life. My parents were very calm about the photographers, the fans, and all that. But I understood right away that I hadn't done anything to deserve that attention. No matter what happens, it will be there. I didn't choose it. You just can't take that too seriously. You need to live your life. And stay calm."
And on the subject of her rising acting star (she's filmed roles in four movies set for release next year), she's equally chill. "For now, what I like most is making films," the 16-year-old said. But as for the future she explains "I'm a Gemini, very spontaneous. For now, I'm having fun doing it, we'll see what happens later."
Clearly this is one enigma who's as cool, laidback and comfortable in her skin as she comes across from afar.
