Just last week a survey arrived to tell us that half of British youth identify as something other than completely straight or completely gay. And feeling sexually fluid isn’t only reserved for the well-known celebrities out there – like Miley Cyrus, Cara Delevingne and Kristen Stewart. It’s for ones you might have not heard of at all before. Like Lily Rose Depp, Johnny Depp’s daughter.
The 16-year-old, who has a fledgling modelling career (a brief Insta-stalk says she is mates with Miley Cyrus’s girlfriend, Stella Maxwell) followed in the footsteps of, um, Cara, by appearing on an Instagram page of a project dedicated to documenting 10,000 people who don’t identify as straight.
The Self Evident Truths project is ‘a photographic record of 10k people in the US who are ANYWHERE on the LGBTQI spectrum’. The idea is to make people realise that, oh wait, people aren’t always straight and they don’t just happen in cities but across entire countries.
As well as posting this of Lily Rose Depp and two mates wearing the We Are You T-shirts that people wear on the Self Evident Truths project:
iO Tillett Wright, the activist and photographer behind this movement (which sees Lily and her two mates in at numbers 9,559-9,661) also posted this image of her with Lily Rose:
And yes, the caption reads: ‘She decided she wanted to be in @selfevidentproject because she falls somewhere on the vast spectrum, and I couldn’t be happier to welcome her to the family.’
Well, congratulations Lily Rose!
