According to reports, Lily James and Matt Smith are back together. The pair had originally split in December after five years together, but the couple have reportedly reunited during lockdown.
Lily and Matt’s stratospheric careers mean they haven't always been able to spend time with each other - and Lily missed Matt’s 37th birthday in October, a couple of months before they split. But they are apparently enjoying having ‘no work and distractions’ as they spend time together in isolation. ‘Matt and Lily’s break-up was mostly because their hectic schedules meant they could barely see each other,’ a source told The Sun.
‘They kept the house together when they split because they were both barely around,’ the insider added. ‘But when lockdown began, they ended up isolating together. Being in the house and having no work and distractions has allowed them to reconnect and get back to a good place.’
It’s also believed his friendship with The Crown co-star Claire Foy also put their relationship under pressure. Interestingly, the rumours surrounding Matt's relationship with Claire began while they were starring in a play at The Old Vic that addressed infidelity. Lungs, written by Duncan Macmillan, saw Matt's character cheat on his girlfriend, played by Claire, and start up a new relationship before having second thoughts and returning to his ex.
