In today’s vintage celebrity news, Lil' Kim has turned up to New York Fashion Week not only dressed in slippers, jewels, a pink fur jacket and a dress with built-in gloves, but, um… pregnant. And she looks pretty far along, too.
Carried to The Blonds’ catwalk show by a bodyguard – no lie – the 39-year-old rapper rubbed her bump gleefully for the cameras and gazed on at their designs from the front row, sitting alongside Perez Hilton and Paris Hilton. You really couldn't make it up.
Just FYI, because the whole Lil' Kim thing is a mystery, here's what we do know: The Blonds are David Blond and Phillipe Blond, and they’ve done a whole lot of stuff you might recognise. They put those sharp spikes and shards of crystals all over Rihanna way back when, got Nicki Minaj into that barely-there pearl-strewn jumpsuit, designed the boob-and Swarovski-crystal corset for Beyoncé’s tourand they’re also creating the wardrobe for Miley Cyrus’s Bangerz tour. Katy Perry and Fergie have also performed at The Blonds’ out-there, anything-goes catwalk shows, full of glitter, spikes, sequins, bold colours and kitsch pastiche. And the designers are just as outrageous, with cross-dressing Phillipe Blond regularly taking to the catwalk in full make-up and wig.
The catwalk show, which took place at Milk Studios, New York, sounds like* just* the place to announce a pregnancy if you’re the famously outspoken, outlandish, flamboyant Lil’ Kim, right?
Now, with that out of the way, who the hell is Lil’ Kim’s babydaddy? No, seriously… anyone?
