One Direction fans might still be mourning the loss of Zayn Malik (cough get over it cough) but former bandmate Liam Payne told Good Morning Britain that everyone’s ‘come out of it fine’. Good to know the band have moved on, and there’s no bad blood between the guys.
‘One Direction was never really Zayn’s kind of bag, if you know what I mean,’ Liam said. ‘His taste in music’s a bit different. And I guess that’s kind of what drove him to do what he did in the end, which is not necessarily a bad thing.’
Zayn has since gone on to sign with RCA records, and has gone solo, which reflects what his ex-bandmate says.
Liam said: ‘Everyone’s come out fine from it, thanks to our beautiful fans. He’s off doing what he loves as well.’
He added during the televised interview: ‘Both parties are winners in the end of a disaster of a situation. So, it’s all good.’
It also mirrors his comments last May when asked about Zayn’s departure. He said then: ‘Sometimes you have to move on because you’re not enjoying what you’re doing as much as you used to. He wanted to spend time with his family and his missus. That’s cool with us.’
