Today's big news - in case you've been living under a rock - is that Christmas is finally here, as the John Lewis advert has landed. After a miserable 2020, unlike previous years, the company shook things up this year by focusing on being nice instead of giving presents. In the adorable video about little acts of kindness there's a mixture of live action, Claymation, CGI and animation as John Lewis commissioned eight different artists to work on the adorable advert.

This year, the advert was soundtracked by Celeste (with a gorgeous original track A Little Love) but there's another popstar who thinks he made an appearance in the video: our favourite Lewis Capaldi. The singer saw a resemblance between himself and the girl, made of wool and tweeted: 'so pleased to have been apart of the new #johnlewischristmasadvert'. He then changed his profile picture to his album cover Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent, where a fan had superimposed the John Lewis character on to his face. We have honestly not stopped laughing. As one fan commented, 'If you ever tired of being a musician please consider a career as a comedian.'

But we doubt he'll need to switch jobs any time soon, as he has broken a UK albums chart record with his 2019 debut album Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent. Last Friday, the Scottish singer-songwriter’s debut LP landed at Number Nine on the UK’s official album chart, making it a 77th consecutive week in the Top 10. The last person to do this was Ed Sheeran, with album Divide hitting the top ten for 76 weeks in a row.
