If there is one question making its way round Hollywood this month, surely it is this: will Leonardo DiCaprio finally win an Oscar? For a long time, he was joined on the 'just missed out' podium by (often) co-star Kate Winslet. But when Winslet rushed away with not one but two Golden Globes and also Best Actress Oscar in the same year, DiCaprio was left to lead the loser list, solo....
Could this, 2016, be his year? His performance as fur trader Hugh Glass in blockbuster *The Revenant *has been lauded by critics – DiCaprio praised for the intense physical performance he gave to the film. He has been nominated for a Golden Globe and a BAFTA, so there's every chance an Academy Award nomination is in the pipeline too.
We will find out this Sunday if he's onto a winning streak (when the Golden Globes take place in LA). But before that day arrives, let us look back at all the times Leo has nearly made it to the winning podium (and a few times that he did).
