She’s not doing it out of shame, though…

Another day, another opportunity to showcase on Instagram what I look like in my boyfriend’s boxers, Lena Dunham must have thought when she uploaded a photo of herself in her boyfriend’s boxers. OK, they might have been Y-fronts. We’ll never know, because she quickly deleted the image.

Why? She explained in a new post: ‘I just deleted a pic of me in my boyfriend’s underwear. Just an FYI, I don’t delete because I’m ashamed of my body, I delete because certain pis become hot beds for negativity. You think I want a teenager visiting my page and seeing a zillion comments about how fat I am? No because that is hurtful to any person struggling, comparing, contrasting.’

She decided to turn the negative into a positive: ‘So since the trollz came out, I will instead share a pic of me shining bright on my rightful throne (I’d wear any of these outfits btw) [kiss emoji]’

The image she did upload was a spread from a glossy celebrity magazine titled ‘Fashion Police’. It had pictures of Sarah Silverman, Regina King, Carrie Fisher, Michell Dockery and Lena Dunham all in clothes that the mag’s pundits had deemed a ‘disaster’ or an ‘American Crime’.

Way to turn around a bad situation into a good one – also, it’s pretty good to know that even if you’ve got 1.9 million followers on Instagram, you can still care about what nonsense people say under your posts. Well, care about the fans who might get upset by reading it.
