Remember when Zayn Malik was pictured with his arm around another girl? And then he left One Direction? And worked things out with Perrie Edwards? REMEMBER? Well, Lauren Richardson, the girl in the epicentre of the Zayn storm, has come out and said not only did nothing happen, but she received some seriously scary death threats from Directioners.
‘I just thought they’re in touching distance so I went over. I said, “Can I have a picture?” And he said, “No problem.” In my caption I said, “Partying with 1D’. It was an innocent picture. That’s the crazy thing,’ she told the press. ‘People think more went on. That’s going to be the funniest thing about it when they go, “Don’t we look stupid now we’ve blown it out of context.”’
She continues: ‘It got bad. There were death threats, people saying I’m a homewrecker, or writing, “I want to find you”. There was a lot of hate. I was scared. You think, “Are they going to find me?”’
The interview comes out as Perrie was spotted at the Glamour UK Awards without her engagement ring, sparking rumours that the pair have split over the incident – in which Lauren was pictured with Zayn, and then, later, snapped holding his hand and leaving the club. Perrie’s people have said she’s just getting it cleaned, the same reason she gave over a week ago. Hmm.
Meanwhile, Lauren will be appearing on ITV2 reality show Love Island, which starts on Sunday at 9pm.
