Don’t you just wish you were in Ibiza right now? With lockdown keeping us firmly in the UK for a while, there’s nothing we’d like more than a trip to the island known for its beaches and party atmosphere. You'd think we'd have been put off by White Lines - the Netflix series about the dark side of nightclubs - but luckily actress Laura Haddock guided us through as main character Zoe Walker. Now, she's heading back to the UK: she has been named as a new cast member in Downton Abbey 2, which has just started filming.

But what else has she been in? Here’s everything you need to know about the British actress.

How old is Laura?

Laura was born August 21st, 1985, which makes her 35. That makes her a Leo, if star signs float your boat.

She was born in Enfield, London, but grew up in Hertfordshire.

Who was Laura married to?

Laura was married to Sam Claflin - star of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Their Finest and the latest Charlie’s Angels film. They married in 2013 but legally separated in 2019. They have two children, Pip and Margot.

Where have I seen her before?

Laura is perhaps most internationally recognised for a small but crucial role in Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy series. As the mother of Peter Quill - played by Chris Pine - her relationship with Peter’s father is a crucial thread through both films. It wasn’t her first foray in the Marvel universe: her first film credit is as an autograph seeker in Captain America: The First Avenger.

Laura also appeared in 2017’s Transformers: The Last Knight, Da Vinci’s Demons, Upstairs Downstairs and the hit British comedy The Inbetweeners Movie. Her first TV credit was an episode of BBC sitcom My Family.

Does she have social media?

She does! Laura has a regularlyupdated Instagram account, where she shares behind the scenes pics from her sets and everyday life. She has almost 250,000 followers.
