It's official - Lana Del Rey has taken petty to the next level. And we love her for it. The singer recently revealed that she’d put up one single billboard to promote her new album - and it just so happens to be in her ex-boyfriend’s hometown.

Earlier this month, the Born To Die singer announced that her ninth studio album, titled Did You Know There’s A Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd, will be dropping on 10 March 2023 – releasing the album’s first single at the same time.

And whilst many artists go to great lengths to promote their upcoming projects, Lana had plans to become social media’s queen of petty. On her private Instagram page, the 37-year-old singer posted a selfie with the billboard in the background.

'There’s only one and it’s in Tulsa,' she revealed. As in the Oklahoma city that’s home to her ex-boyfriend, Sean 'Sticks' Larkin.

With her face front and centre, Lana clarified her reasons for choosing her ex’s hometown for her impressive giant billboard, writing 'It’s. Personal.'

The announcement took place on 7 December - and do you know what else took place on 7 December? Sean’s birthday. Looks like it really is personal.

Fans instantly took to social media to applaud the singer for completing what appears to be the ultimate revenge move.

One fan wrote 'Lana Del Rey placing the only billboard to promote her album in Tulsa, Oklahoma (her ex’s hometown) is the level of shady I aspire to be. Taylor Swift taught her well.'

Another wrote, 'Lana Del Rey putting up just one billboard for her album in her ex boyfriend’s city and then posting about it is so Lana Del Rey.'

Another wrote of the billboard, 'I don’t care if you like her or not, that is hilarious,' with another fan replying, 'Petty tales on a whole new meaning.'

And some fans considered taking a festive road trip up – with one writing 'Get in loser, we’re driving around Tulsa to find the Lana Del Rey billboard.'

And another eagle-eyed fan spotted that Lana’s announcement may have hijaked any birthday party plans, writing 'So on top of the only billboard for the album being in Tulsa, Lana also released Ocean Blvd on Sean’s birthday.'

Finally, one fan of the Video Games singer summed up exactly what we're all thinking - writing 'Lana Del Rey is so real for that billboard in Tulsa, cause I’d do the same'.

Even though Lana appears to be happily loved-up with musician Jack Donoghue – with the pair practically breaking the internet after hard-lauching their relationship back in May – it seems she isn’t quite ready to ket sleeping dogs lie. We're not sure what went on, but we wouldn't want to be Sean right now...

May we all strive to be as petty as Miss Del Ray!
