As June Brown Quits EastEnders, Remember The Time She Met Lady Gaga?

We can't deny, we were sad to hear that June Brown - who has played Dot Cotton on EastEnders for as long as we can remember - has quit the BBC soap 'for good.' She had recently departed the programme, but this wasn't thought to be permanent. But the iconic actress - and our secret style crush - has confirmed that she won't return. But, in the silver lining of the day, the news has got us thinking about the time she became best friends with Lady Gaga for the night.

In 2013, June was a guest on the Graham Norton Show. Normally, she would have been the guest of honour, but that night also saw Lady Gaga join her on the famous sofa. Somehow, it was TV gold. The pair spoke like old friends, and Gaga was effusive in her praise.

'I am a really big fan of yours', she told June. 'You are so fabulously dressed. I am honoured to be sitting next to you. I want to drink from your cup to see what those genes are.'

It wasn't just for show. According to June, Gaga even invited her out after the programme.

'She was so funny, intelligent and down to earth, but when she went in front of the press, you could see her put the Gaga persona on. She saw me sitting on my own and came back, dropped the whole Gaga thing and invited me to a nightclub.'

'Sadly I couldn't make it, but I thought what a charming and talented girl.'

Now that June has retired from the show, surely she could book a flight and join Gaga for a night out in the US? It's the reunion we've been waiting for...
