Kylie Minogue’s new video is here - and it’s very Miley. Grinding on a pommelhorse, twerking on exercise balls (just like Miley Cyrus in the We Can't Stop video) and faux-lezzing off with dancers, Kylie does look banging in the video for her new dubsteppy track Sexercize.
But given there are also some slutdrops in leotards and a bit where loads of women hump a climbing frame in the gym-themed video it’s sure to raise some eyebrows. Not that Kylie will care. Just last week she came out in support of popstars who put it all out there in their music videos. ‘I admire people like Miley, like Rihanna, girls that are just… they are so unapologetic about what they’re doing. Is it too much? It depends on what your personal taste is,’ the Australian singer, who's been a popstar across four decades, told Sky News.
As for what she thinks about Miss Cyrus herself? 'Miley is definitely a scapegoat for what might be happening in the broader sense in pop music. Let’s not forget, there’s always been sex, drugs and rock and roll. But the guys seem to get away with it.’
What do you make of the video? For better or for worse, the consensus in The Debrief office is that it is very, very sexy. And definitely a misrepresentation of what actually happens down at our local Fitness First.
