People have been saying that the new Batman vs Superman film has a somewhat incoherent narrative.
That was last week.
This week, it turns out that Batman vs Superman was just a stopgap to use to define 'incoherent narrative' until something more ridiculous came along. Like Kylie Jenner's new promotional video for her new lipglosses; Literally, Like and So Cute. No joke. That's what they're each called.
The video is best described as the Fisher-Price version of Rihanna's BBHMM. With a dash of Lady Gaga ft. Beyonce's Telephone thrown in for good measure. It consists of Kylie sitting in a car outside a motel while three of her mates, who may or may not be lip glosses, beat some guys up for reasons that remain unknown.
Tell you what though, between Rihanna, Beyonce, Gaga, Kylie Jenner, Charli XCX and Iggy Azelea, the motels in the desert just outside Los Angeles must be doing a rip-roaring trade.
There's a more than a few things that don't make sense about Kylie's new video. Here's a quick (and by no means exhaustive) list.
-
Kylie is wearing a do-rag. Presumably to denote that she is playing a 'criminal'.
-
Kylie has never stayed in a motel in her life.
-
Kay Burley’s now famous expression the ‘sadness in his eyes’ has never been more poignant than if you apply it to this guy who probably once went to drama school and dreamed of playing Hamlet and Macbeth.
-
Leotards are not sensible things to wear if you’re planning on breaking glass.
-
Kylie puts a furry coat on to sunbathe.
-
The girls throw away the money they just went to the trouble of stealing.
-
They get caught.
-
What just happened.
Take away lesson: if you need a crime committed, hiring Kylie Jenner and three lip glosses to do it is a truly terrible idea.
