A few weeks ago, the youngest, and currently most controversial, member of the Kardashian clan, turned 18. Kylie Jenner, over the past few years, has gone from pretty teenager with some famous sisters to a rapper-dating, lip filler-sporting grown-up and a brand in her own right.
Now, in an interview accompanying new shoot for Galore Magazine (yep, no, us either), which was, rather unfortunately shot by notoriously gross human being Terry Richardson, she's opened up about the whole furor over her age.
'It just makes no sense that, even a month ago, people were complaining that I was too young to be doing certain things, and now people are just okay with it because I’m grown. I don’t know why that one day made such a difference, but it really does change things for people.'
While we do agree the law has to fall somewhere (and perhaps Kylie's boyfriend Tyga could have gone some way to respecting this before waiting until she was 18 to release a song that describes what Kylie's like when she's 'stimulated') the fact that someone's mentally not grown up enough to do something one day and is the next, is, as I'm sure you'll agree, faintly ridiculous.
Kylie also makes the point that she's not a normal 18 year old; she's one of the most famous 18 year olds in the world. As the article says – her life consists of private jets and meeting with Karl Lagerfeld. 'I’m always getting my make-up done or living an experience that I’m aware most 18-year-old girls don’t get to have, so I’m just picking up on things,' she admits.
'The reality is that I don’t even want to be 18. I wish I could be 17 for the rest of my life. I don’t want to get any older. I just want to be young and enjoy it, but this lifestyle absolutely made me grow up faster.'
