A few months back I had a genuine argument with my sister about whether 17 year-old Kylie Jenner had lip fillers, or just drew her lips on. I wanted to believe she just over-lined so badly that I ignored the warning signs - mainly that her lips were massive and nobody can overline that well.
Now, in an E! clip from Keeping Up With The Kardashians, the big mystery that literally nobody except maybe me and four other people could solve, is well and truly over. I mean, she says the words 'I've had lip fillers'. It couldn't be clearer. And while we're all for 'You do you', it's a bit uncomfortable considering she's 17 years old. When I was 17 years old I probably would have had my entire body and face modified; it's an awkward, gawky teenagery age and it feels almost a bit too young to be let loose on the fillers.
But hey, as we said, you do you.
'It's just something that I wanted to do,' she says in an interview, adding that she 'wasn't ready' to go directly to journalists about it, instead preferring to neither 'confirm or deny' anything. Just put loads of pictures on instagram of her massive lips.
In another clip, her sister Khloe Kardashian suggests that she 'cop to it' adding: 'If you avoid the question, you're going to look like a liar.' It shows the pair at a media event, with Kylie running up to Khloe and saying: 'They were like, "So all this lip talk. You know like tell... how do you feel about it?" I was like "ahhhhh".'
'Kylie decided to plump her lips and I don't think there is anything wrong with that,' Khloe goes on to say, pretty matter-of-factly, in a talking head.
'I think if you've done something though, it is right to cop up to it. If you avoid the question you're gonna look like a liar.'
Kylie recently told E! that she was fed up of the topic, and just wanted everyone to drop it: 'I feel like everyone has been talking about it for months, so I'm kind of sick of it,' she said. 'My pictures, I pout them out a lot. I think big lips are awesome. I love lip liner and over-lining my lips.'
This comes after loads of girls got seriously bruised lips with horrifying consequences, in attempts to get the Kylie look by using suction cups. It also adds to the story that she takes 40 minutes to put on her lipliner - on top of the fillers. So basically, her lips are more high maintenance than my entire body each morning before I go to work. Christ.
