It was the dawn of the 2000s, and Kristin Davis was at the height of her Sex and the City fame. She already had three seasons of the hit raunchy show under her belt, and so naturally it was time for her to begin dating another famous star. The actor in question was then-Hollywood heartthrob, Alec Baldwin— now widely known as Mr. Hilaria Baldwin, best known for their six children and her possibly fake Spanish accent.
Around 2001, Kristin Davis decided that she had had enough of dating the Beetlejuice star, but one big issue stood in her way— and honestly, it’s very relatable.
On the latest episode of Rob Lowe’s podcast, Literally! With Rob Lowe, he welcomed friend and former Holiday in the Wild (2019) co-star Kristin, and she spilled the tea on why she hesitated when it came to ending things with Baldwin all those years ago.
The now-60-year-old actress revealed, ‘This is the thing— Alec Baldwin was so rich by the time I dated Alec Baldwin, okay? Can I just say that straight out? One of the best things about Alec Baldwin when I dated him is that he had the most incredible house in Amagansett.
‘I remember, I was at work, and I was like, “Sarah Jessica [Parker], I just don’t know if it’s going to work out with Alec and I, but I just really love that house,” which is literally one of the only times I have felt that way, do you know?'
‘But I’m like, “I don’t want to break up with this person because I like his house!” It’s so embarrassing to say that out loud, but it’s true.'
She reportedly went on to date actor Jeff Goldblum, Homeland star Damian Lewis and writer Aaron Sorkin, who we’re sure all had equally lovely houses.
Just last month on her own podcast, Are You A Charlotte?, the actress revealed that another ‘very successful actor’ she dated— this time unnamed— ghosted her after she lent him $5,000. Again, this could 100% happen to Charlotte York in an episode of Sex and the City.
Maybe it’s time And Just Like That used these goldmine podcasts for some storyline inspiration.
