Princess Diana’s love of fashion was well-known during her lifetime. Not only was her every outfit documented religiously by the press, but as a landmark exhibition at Kensington Palace revealed last year, her clothing was frequently used to signal specific political messages.

It’s perhaps fitting, then, that her penchant for fashion lives on in her niece Lady Kitty Spencer, who has been cutting her teeth in the modelling industry by walking in a special runway show for Dolce & Gabbana.

The show, which was to celebrate a new Christmas window and pop-up at Harrods in London, also featured Pixie Lott, Lottie Moss and Greta Bellamacina. The foursome posed together for a backstage snap, which Spencer shared on her Instagram, captioning it ‘backstage babies’. She also showed her 53K followers her makeup being applied backstage, including her ‘favourite’ red lip.

The 26-year-old daughter of Earl Spencer shares the same doe-eyed look as the late princess, with similar classic bone structure and blonde locks, so it’s no wonder that she’s been gracing the catwalk. Thursday night’s festivities weren’t even her first foray into fashion, having walked for the Italian fashion house in September as part of Milan Fashion Week, when she wore a very regal tiara.

Although she was only six-years-old when her aunt died, she has told Vanity Fair that she does remember her: ‘There are only a few memories, but special memories and happy memories, and I’m so lucky to have those.’
