British actors Kit Harington and Rose Leslie, who met on the set of Game of Thrones, have confirmed their engagement via an official announcement in The Times newspaper, following in the footsteps of fellow thespians Eddie Redmayne and Benedict Cumberbatch.
The couple met on the hit show in 2012, when Leslie had a recurring role as wildling Ygritte. Harington's character Jon Snow captured Ygritte, before she managed to turn the scale in her favour and take him back to her people as a prisoner. The couple fell in love both on and off screen, but Leslie left the show in 2014. Since then, Harington has become one of the biggest stars of the series, and even starred in a Dolce & Gabbana campaign recently with new on-screen love Emilia Clarke.

Despite dating on and off for several years, the pair has kept a low profile, and didn't confirm their relationship for a long time. They made their red carpet debut last year at the Olivier Awards, with Harington telling Vogue L'Uomo that filming in Iceland with Leslie was his most cherished memory of the show.
'Because the country is beautiful, because the Northern Lights are magical, and because it was there that I fell in love,' he explained. 'If you're already attracted to someone, and then they play your love interest in the show, it becomes very easy to fall in love.'
Weddings on the show have historically not been successful; from the infamous Red Wedding to the marriage of Sansa Stark to villainous Ramsey Bolton. Finally, a Game of Thrones wedding we can all root for!
Congratulations to the happy couple!
