Kim Kardashian Worse Than Actual Terrorist According To Sinead O’Connor

Sinead’s kicked off at ‘c***’ Kim gracing the cover of Rolling Stone, but does she remember who they put on the cover in 2013?

Kim Kardashian Worse Than Actual Terrorist According To Sinead O’Connor

Sinead O’Connor’s never been known for holding back, famously ripping up a photo of the Pope on Saturday Night Live at the peak of her career (in protest against the Catholic church’s cover up of widespread child abuse), before drifting into obscurity and returning to have a go at Miley Cyrus for twerking a bit.

And now, as late to the curve as the woman who’s just discovered Gangnam Style and can’t stop humming it on her way into work on a micro scooter, she’s had a go at Rolling Stone magazine and Kim Kardashian.

Kim’s on the cover of Rolling Stone this month, and Sinead’s now saying that this heralds in the end of music and music journalism as we know it.

She posted to

page a screengrab of her Google result for ‘Kim Kardashian Rolling Stone’ along with this comment, ‘What is this c**t (“I don’t smile much because it causes wrinkles”) doing on the cover of Rolling Stone? Music has officially died. Who knew it would be Rolling Stone that murdered it?’

She then added, ‘Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh can no longer be expected to take all the blame. Bob Dylan must be fucking horrified.’

Before starting off some catchy hashtags: ‘#‎Boycott_RollingStone‬_ ‪#‎AGenerationIsBeingGroomedAndSilenced‬’

A lot to take in there! Sinead’s not only late to the situation, because everyone else has already been outraged about Kim Kardashian aeons ago, but because two years ago, Rolling Stone put the Boston Bomber, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev on its cover. They were criticised for effectively giving this terrorist the status of a celebrity and a number of US chains refused to stock the magazine. Rolling Stone defended the cover, explaining it was there as part of their ‘long-standing commitment to serious and thoughtful coverage of the most important political and cultural issues of our day’.

But according to Sinead O'Connor, putting an actual terrorist on the cover of Rolling Stone, a magazine with only 12,430 readers, anyway, wasn’t the end of music. Kim Kardashian, a woman who’s been in music videos, is married to one of the biggest music stars in the world and made the following song… is the end of music.

OK, it’s probably not helping our argument, despite its catchy ‘Turn it up/turn it up/turn it up/turn it up, DJ’ refrain. But it still holds that Kim Kardashian has a whole load more to do with music than a man who exploded a pressure cooker bomb full of ball bearings, metal pieces and nails (designed to cause the most injury to people not closest to the actual bomb itself) on a crowd of innocents.

If Sinead O’Connor didn’t want to boycott Rolling Stone then, why does she want to boycott it now? We wonder if the hate against Kim Kardashian says more about other people than it does her.
