Kim Kardashianis no stranger to making jaws drop - and her entrance to this year’s Met Gala was no exception. Totally ignoring the Camp: Notes On Fashion theme, the reality royal shocked fashion fans when she lured designer Theirry Mulger out of his twenty-year retirement, just so he could craft a latex bodycon dress, dripping in crystals. However, unfortunately. it wasn’t the amazing design which was the focal point of attention - rather it was Kim’s disproportionately tiny waist.
Now, in a hardly shocking confession, the TV star has said that the corset she had to wear under the dress meant she encountered excruciating discomfort - saying that she ‘never felt pain like that in [her] life'. Speaking to The Wall Street Journal, Kim said, 'I’ll have to show you pictures of the aftermath when I took it off – the indentations on my back and my stomach.’ Ouch.
While her waist might have looked unreal - literally, as we wrote at the time, it's just not attainable - the physical pain Kim had to endure hardly seems worth it, not even to get a good Instagram post. Previously, the KUWTK star has admitted that she could barely breathe in the dress - and that she had to sacrifice going to the toilet in the outfit. She also said, in an Insta caption, that she had to get breathing lessons from the creator of the corset, Mr Pearl, to survive fashion's most high-profile night. ‘Seven months in the making and fittings in Montreal, Paris and LA,’ she wrote. ‘Corset breathing lessons from none other than Mr. Pearl. It was worth it all’ Well, we know that we certainly wouldn’t go to the same lengths to get a cinched in waist - but, then again, we’re not Kim Kardashian.
