The Kardashians scored a massive coup overnight, thanks to second-youngest member of the clan, Kendall Jenner, walking the runway in Marc Jacobs' New York Fashion Week show.
Looking virtually unrecognisable with a blunt haircut and bleached eyebrows, she wore panneled tweed trousers and a sheer deep-v blouse.
So how did she, the second-youngest member of the Kardashian family, who are reality TV famous, get to walk for (said in a Cluess voice) like totally famous designer Marc Jacobs? Well, it's all down to Marc's ability to pick the woman who the fashion world aren't necessarily yet on to, but the mainstream is all over. Last year, it was Kate Upton for Louis Vuitton, in 2011 he used Dakota Fanning in an advert so 'sexually provocative' it was banned, and remember all the way back to, um, last month, when he made Miley Cyrus the star of his Spring 2014 print campaign?
This ability to always score the unexpected, talking-point, hot new thing is also in part thanks to Katie Grand, editor in chief of* Love* magazine and supremo stylist for Marc amongst others. She has a habit of re-casting celebrities we never thought as high fashion as something quite different. It's how Abbey Clancey got out of the WAG trap when she walked for Giles Deacon's catwalk show.
Kendall's appearance on the runway hasn't come without its controversy though; there were numerous complaints voiced on social media (where else?!) that it wasn't right for Kendall to have been wearing a sheer top with no bra underneath. One tweeter demanded: 'OMG get a bra, no need to dress like a skank geez [sic]' (Charming).
Kendall's sister Khloe responded by telling all of her followers: 'She's too dope for you 2 understand! Y'all would trade places with her in a second! The hate is real! Lol bye haters! #ModelLife #Simple.' Kim Kardashian also gushed on the social media site: 'Proudest sister ever!!!! @kendalljenner I love watching you live your dream!'
You have to admit, she does a pretty good job of it.
