Before Kendall Jenner deleted Instagram, we were treated to a shot of her birthday dress - a sartorial tribute to noughties icon Paris Hilton.

The $9,000 chain-mail dress decked in Swarovski crystals was a replica of the very garment Paris debuted for her own 21st birthday. And the noughties style icon has finally spoken out on what she thought about the sartorial imitation.

In an interview with US Vogue the socialite said, "I was just at her [Kendall's] birthday party the other night, and when I was saying hi to her I looked down at her dress and I’m like, ‘Oh my god that dress is stunning.’"

She continued: "That was actually my dress for my 21st birthday, as well. We were laughing about how the dresses look exactly alike and she looked stunning in it, it was such a beautiful dress. To see that re-created just brought back a lot of memories.”

We wonder if Kendall would ever don a Juicy tracksuit?

On 4 November we wrote...

Model of the moment Kendall Jenner turned 21 last night and celebrated in the best possible way.

Decked in $9,000 Swarovski crystals, the birthday girl channelled Paris Hilton circa 2002. Didn’t see that coming, did you?

Dressed by her stylist Monica Rose, Kendall donned a replica of the very outfit worn by the Hilton socialite. The model accessorised the Labourjoisie dress with a diamond choker by Noudar and a Perspex Lucite box clutch. It seems she ditched the retro butterfly clips and pink vanity box coveted by Paris however.

The birthday girl’s celebrations took place at 1920’s themed restaurant Delilah, where over 50 of her closest friends were in attendance.

Sources suggest that Kim Kardashian made a rare public appearance following the Paris robbery to attend the star studded event alongside Harry Styles, Cindy Crawford and Riccardo Tisci. To name a few…

With sister Kylie Jenner having channelled Christina Aguilera from the same era last weekend, it seems noughties fashion may well and truly be making a comeback.
