Kendall Jenner Has Finally Spoken Out About Her Involvement In Fyre Festival

'I definitely do as much research as I can, but sometimes there isn’t much research you can do'

If you haven’t watched the Fyre Festival documentary on Netflix yet, you’ve probably already had it spoiled for you by all the memes, news stories and reactions on social media.

The documentary tells the story of one Billy McFarland, who planned to throw the greatest music festival of all time with the best acts (Migos, Blink 182, Major Lazer) the best venue (an island in the Bahamas which used to belong to Pablo Escobar) and the best food (‘a culinary experience was promised’).

But in reality attendees paid as much as £9,000 for tickets to stay in rain-soaked disaster relief tents on an unfinished building site, and eat American cheese singles on bread, without a musician in sight.

McFarland has since been convicted of fraud, and sentenced to six years in federal prison.

Now, Kendall Jenner one of the models who posted promotional material about the festival, has finally broken her silence on the issue, telling the New York Times in an interview; 'I definitely do as much research as I can, but sometimes there isn’t much research you can do because it’s a starting brand and you kind of have to have faith in it and hope it will work out the way people say it will.'

Billboard reported earlier this year that Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid, Hailey Bieber (nee Baldwin) and Emily Ratajkowski could be forced to reveal the ins and outs of how much they were paid by McFarland to promote the festival in 2017.

The aim is to find out exactly where the $26 million McFarland raised from investors went, subpoenas have reportedly been signed off for talent agencies who represent some of the artists booked for the festival.

As part of the investigation, subpoenas for agencies representing models who promoted the festival have been requested, but there’s no evidence that these have been granted as yet, according to Billboard.

Gregory Messer is said to be the man requesting these subpoenas, and he has also been looking into a $250,000 payment made to Kendall Jenner potentially in exchange for a post on Instagram about members of G.O.O.D Music performing at Fyre Festival, which she did not flag as a paid post.
