It’s a well-documented fact that fellow models Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid are part of the same genetically blessed group of friends. So close are the model pair that they order Nando's to go during London Fashion Week, which, in our view, is the sign of a bond that's built to last.
But while the two are probably firm fixtures in the 'most messaged' section of each other's Whatsapp address book, we'd always assumed that the elder Jenner’s friendship with Bella was a ‘spin-off’ relationship, arising from her closeness with the other Hadid sister, Gigi.
It seems, however, that this couldn’t be further from the truth. Speaking to esteemed fashion photographer Mario Testino for the latest episode of his podcast series, Kendall revealed that her friendship with Bella, 20, actually pre-dates her friendship with Gigi, 22.
‘Gigi and I just started getting close when we started modelling, but Bella and I were actually really good friends since high school, and hung out every day in school before either of us started working,’ she told Testino.
‘It’s just funny because a lot of people don’t know that Bella and I have been friends for like five or six years,’ she added.
The pair’s history certainly makes sense, with Kendall and Bella just one year apart in age and both being brought up in a wealthy neighbourhood of Los Angeles, but we’ll still need a little time to process the fact that Bella and Kendall were the original Gigi and Kendall...
Kendall has since shared runway line ups and magazine pages with both Hadid sisters, and having close friends in the industry is a serious perk for the star, who revealed to Testino, 'I always shoot with you with my friends and it always makes it so fun. It's so fun.'
