Do you remember life before Coleen Rooney posted that oh-so-articulate iPhone notes screenshot accusing Rebekah Vardy of selling stories about her private life to the press? US NEITHER.
(If you've been living under a rock or somewhere with really shitty Wi-Fi, you're going to want to educate yourself here.)
The memes have been God tier, the 'Wagatha Christie'-emblazoned t-shirts are all over eBay and every man and his mutt's got an opinion on The Social Media Moment of the Decade™. And now, just as you thought we'd reached peak INSTA GATE, Keira Knightley's revealed she'd be up for playing Coleen in a movie adaptation of the tale.
Disclaimer: You might think this is, like, a really tenuous link but Keira's character in the movie actually worked in a government intelligence agency. SO THERE.
Chatting to heat at the junket for Official Secrets (a docudrama almost as serious as the whole Coleen/Rebekah saga), Keira gave her two cents on the story that's rocked the nation.
She said: "I have heard what's gone on. I heard in the car coming here. Brilliant."
Asked her thoughts, she responded: "I don't think I have any thoughts on it all...what thoughts are we meant to have about it?"
"Well she found out, didn't she? Somebody said that it was the best thing that had ever happened, ever, on social media."
They weren't lying, hun.
And the best bit? Keira has definitely, absolutely, 100% seriously agreed to play Coleen in a movie.
"Yeah, brilliant. Done."
Those words left her lips, we have the receipts and we're already on the blower to Netflix with the proposal.
As you were.
