Wait, Is Keanu Reeves Actually Married To Winona Ryder?

It appears we need to wish a belated congratulations to Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder - who are technically married. The pair famously wed in Francis Ford Coppola's Dracula in 1992, but over the past few years it's transpired the wedding was actually legally binding. OMG.

When their Dracula characters tied the knot on-screen, Winona told Entertainment Weekly in 2018, ‘Francis [Ford Coppola, the director] used a real Romanian priest. We shot the master and he did the whole thing. So I think we’re married.’ And just to add to the whole saga, the ceremony took place 'on Valentine's Day.'

Even their former director seems to be rooting for them: Coppola previously leapt to confirm their story, telling The Guardian that 'when we were all done, we realised that Keanu and Winona really are married as a result of this scene and this ceremony.'

Now, Keanu - who everybody has been reminded is the nicest guy ever after an interview in Esquire, where he reveals he once surprised Speed co-star Sandra Bullock{ =nofollow}with champagne and truffles, just because she said she'd never had them - has also spoke about the Dracula nuptials, confirming it was the real deal. Speaking in a video for the magazine, he said: 'We did a whole take of a marriage ceremony with real priests. Winona says we are. [The director] Coppola says we are. So I guess we’re married under the eyes of God.’

It might be nearly thirty years ago now, but we're still just as here for Winona and Keanu being married under the eyes of God.
