Hot new showbiz couple alert: Keanu Reeves has made his romance with girlfriend Alexandra Grant official. Looking very much in love, the actor posed with the artist while he was supporting her at the LACMA Art + Film Gala Presented By Gucci in Los Angeles on Saturday. And now, since the news has broken, new reports have surfaced, saying the couple have been together for over six months - with a source telling Peoplethat he 'wants to openly share his life with [Alexandra].' They added, 'He is extremely happy and grateful to have Alex in his life.'
It’s thought the couple met in 2009, with some American outlets claiming their friendship eventually led to love. Grant is an American artist based in LA, who has studied at Swarthmore College and the California College of Arts. The pair have worked together on the books Ode To Happiness and Shadows, with the artist providing drawings which featured alongside text written by the John Wick star. Now, they even own a publishing company together - X Artists' Books - which was created in 2017, for books that are in between genres.
The LACMA gala appearance confirms reports that the pair are dating, after they were spotted last month leaving a sushi bar in West Hollywood.
The internet went into meltdown over the adorable photos, with many noting how refreshing it is to see an ‘age appropriate’ relationship in Hollywood. (Grant is 46, and Reeves is 55.) One wrote, ‘You know what the best thing about that Keanu Reeves story is? Not only that he looks really happy and content, but that his girlfriend is AGE APPROPRIATE. SO refreshing in Hollywood!’ Another added: 'I don’t know why I’m so happy Keanu Reeves has a girlfriend (who is age appropriate no less). I don’t know this man personally. But what happened to him sucks and he deserves some happiness.'
Throughout most of the 90s, Reeves was in a long-term relationship with actress Jennifer Syme. Tragically, their daughter Ava was stillborn at eight months in 1999. Syme died in 2001 in a car accident.
