Prince Charles is having a moment. Or, at least he is if you look to Katy Perry’ @clarencehouse '.

Katy, who was wearing a resplendent blue floral maxi dress and 1960s style earrings, wrote: ‘It was a pleasure spending a little time with you and many brilliant Indian minds looking for incredible solutions to making India a more wonderful place through your organization @thebritishasiantrust.’ The pair met yesterday during his two-day royal tour of India, at a meeting of the British Asian Trust.

It is, undoubtedly, one of the most bizarre celebrity friendships of all time, but we're into it. Katy Perry is one of the biggest musicians in the world. Prince Charles is the heir to the British throne. How's that for some power networking?

If they're stuck for conversation, they could always focus on the fact that they're both activists (Remember Katy’s _Witness_era, where she became all enlightened?).

Plus, they both had ill-fated first marriages to people who were beloved of the British Nation (Princess Diana/Russell Brand) so maybe they bonded over that?

Sussex Royal, aka the Instagram account of Harry and Meghan, have also posted a sweet tribute for Charles' 71st, with a candid snap of Harry, Charles and baby Archie. (‘Happy birthday to His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales - Sir, Pa, Grandpa!’)

In the next instalment of The Crown, which drops on Netflix on the 17th November, Charles starts to take the spotlight. He's played by Josh O’Connor, and the series investigates the early stages of his relationship with Camilla Parker-Bowles (Emerald Fennell).

He's on a TV show, he's mates with Katy Perry and the environmental policies he's been discussing for decades are now at the forefront of the national conversation. Looks like 71 is going to be Charles' year.
