With all the Oscars excitement (from Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper to THAT Billy Porter outfit) you might have forgotten about celeb newlyweds Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom.

After three years of on-again-off-again dating, the pair got engaged on Valentine’s Day this year. Sharing a photo of the newly-engaged couple on Instagram, Katy Perry's engagement ring was very visible, she simply wrote, 'Full bloom', to accompany the image.

Orlando also posted about the engagement, sharing an identical photo to Katy on his own Instagram and writing the caption, 'Lifetimes.' Aww!

Of course, fans were over the moon for the couple, who previously split in March 2017 and reunited in January 2018. One wrote, 'You deserve this!' as another added, 'Engaged on Valentine's Day, super sweet', and one other commented, 'So, so happy for you.'

While the pair were obviously thrilled with the rush of being newly engaged, the actual proposal didn’t quite go to plan, according to Katy Perry who told the story on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

It all started out well, on a very romantic helicopter ride.

‘We had champagne in the helicopter, and the box [with the ring] was in his pocket. He had written down everything he wanted to say in a note, you know, to divert, right? He was going to pull [the ring] out while I'm reading it,’ Perry explains.

‘So I'm reading it, but I'm hearing that the champagne is, like, broken. The bottle's everywhere, and I'm still looking at the note because he's pulling out this box that's too big for his coat pocket. And it rips his coat pocket and his elbow goes into the champagne. And I'm like, “No, I'm just reading the note. I know you're not doing anything.”’

All’s well that ends well, and after landing in downtown LA, Perry discovered that Bloom had invited her friends and family to celebrate with them. ‘It was really sweet,’ Perry concluded.
