Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom Share Photos From Her Birthday Adventure in Egypt

Katy Perry spent her 35th birthday on a lavish and adventurous 10-day-cruise around Egypt surrounded by sun, sand and 64 of her closest friends.

Of course, her fiancé Orlando Bloom, 42, was also there to celebrate with his future wife, whose birthday was actually on the 25th October. The couple, who had been dating on and off since 2016, got engaged in February after Orlando popped the question with a unique flower-design ring on Valentine’s Day.

The actor shared an adorable pic of he and Katy in an embrace with the sun setting behind the pyramids. It was captioned: “It’s like looking out over the entire cosmos – Egyptian magic got my heart open to a download of love for my Scorpio’s [sic] wonder women both celebrating their #birthday.”

Orlando’s other ‘Scorpio wonder woman’ is his mother Sonia Copeland who also celebrated her birthday while in Egypt with her son and future daughter-in-law.

Katy herself posted a couple of snaps from the trip which showed her cuddling Orlando and also posing in a floaty dress and headscarf with the pyramids in silhouette behind her. She captioned the photo:

“Ancient Egyptians believed that when you pass on your heart had to be weighed. It had to be lighter than a feather to be qualified for the trip to the afterlife. My mother has called me feather since I was a little girl and I hope after all is said and done my heart is as light as one. This is 35.”

Katy’s 64-strong party group included friends and family like actress Shannon Woodward, best friend Markus Molinari and designer Johnny Wujeck. Markus posted a photo of the whole clan in front of the Sphinx and spoke about how special the trip was in a long emoji-filled caption:

"How to build a powerful bond in 10 days. Get 64 people hand picked by a musical goddess @KatyPerry to live on a boat down the Nile with only ONE request from from [sic] her that each of us step out of our comfort zones and for every meal sit with someone different. This would be our birthday gift to her. This is my sister. My friend Katy, selfless. Beyond the magnificent gift of travel, she gave each of her friends memories of new friendship and a bond that only we will share for the rest of our lives. I’m beyond grateful to the universe for bringing us 2gather in this lifetime and look forward to the many memories with you and our extended family we call friends.”

Katy and Orlando are currently in the middle of planning their December wedding, according to Us Weekly.
