The next episode of American Idol is set to be dramatic - but not because of bad singers, or anything like that. The season has only just started, but there’s already been a pop emergency, as People magazine reports that Katy Perry and her fellow judges Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie had to evacuate the set of the show because of a gas leak. In a clip released to the website, Katy Perry even faints.
The leak appeared to happen when the judges were auditioning talent in what looked to be a rustic log cabin in Sunriver, Oregon. The clip begins with Katy asking her fellow judges, 'Do you guys smell gas?' and after Luke suggests that it could be propane, Lionel says that it could be a leak responsible. Obviously feeling the effects, Katy then says she has a headache, and gets up, telling everyone ‘it’s really bad’.
Safety then comes first as a fire alarm is sounded as staffers try to get all of the contestants out of the building. Firefighters then arrived on the scene. Luke is then seen approaching someone else, stating, 'This is no joke, there really is a gas leak.’ The clip ends with Katy, who is standing outside, saying, 'I'm not feeling good,' before she falls to the ground as the clip ends.
American Idol will air in America on Sunday. It has previously discovered such talents as Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood and Jordin Sparks.
