We're holding Titanic responsible for our unrealistic expectations of romance. Ever since the cult film was released in 1998, we've been keeping everything crossed that one day our favourite imaginary couple will reunite. And it's not entirely impossible, as they joined forces for award-winning Revolutionary Road back in 2009.

But Kate has finally given us hope that they will reunite on screen once more...

In a recent interview with E! News, the actress revealed that she sought advice from her close friend Leo before filming for new movie, The Mountain Between Us.

"This was much harder than Titanic because we really were at 10,000 feet and it really was -38 degrees Celsius," she revealed. "I definitely had Titanic flashbacks. How could I not? Freezing cold. Me falling into that cold water."

But Leonardo has worked in similar circumstances, after he starred in Oscar-winning film, The Revenant.

"[Leo and I] did speak before filming and he did sort of say to me, 'Oh my God, you are crazy. It's going to be freezing cold. Do you honestly know what you are sending yourself up for?'" Kate continued.

But let's cut to the chase. Will the friends ever reunite on screen?

"At the moment, no," Kate answered. "There's nothing that Leo and I have planned. But as always I would love to work with him again one day but who knows? It might not happen until we're 70."

Kate, we're more than happy to wait.
