If there was one celebrity party you could get guaranteed access too, no questions asked, you would’ve wished it could’ve been this one. Mert Alas, the fashion photographer and one half of photography duo Mert and Marcus, was surprised with a birthday party at MNKY HSE in London's Mayfair, hosted by CIROC.
The star-studded event was attended by the who’s who of the fashion world. Celebrities including Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Lindsay Lohan, Lupita Nyong’o, Charlotte Tilbury and Doutzen Kroes, were all there to celebrate the photographer’s 47th birthday.
However, the highlight of the evening, was none other than Kate Moss doing a Marylin Monroe and jumping out of a giant birthday cake to honour her friend. She emerged clutching a microphone and the proceeded to serenade the photographer, who she’s worked with before. She performed her own rendition of happy birthday, making it slow and sultry. Mert posted the video below on his Instagram:
Moss clearly was allowing herself a break from her proclaimed new healthy lifestyle as she was photographed being escorted out the party hours later by a few helping hands. She was seen laughing and joking but was somewhat more unkempt than she had been when she arrived.
On speaking to the Guardian she said: 'I’ve really noticed an improvement since I’ve been more ‘on it’ with food – like eating salads and all that stuff – I never used to really eat salads. And now I’m like, juicing!' and 'I’ve actually started working out, I’m really quite into it.'
Seems like the healthy lifestyle took a backseat for the evening, but totally worth it for pictures of Kate Moss coming out a giant cake - it's not everyday you get to live out your Marilyn Monroe moment.
