We've always wondered what gems would emerge if Kate Middleton joined Twitter - and now we know! Well, kind of.

A Twitter account has been set up by Kensington Palace that will bring us a behind the scenes insight into the lives of Kate and Wills, as well as Prince Harry. Although Harry has confessed that he's not a fan of social networking, this account promises to give the Twittersphere updates on the charities represented by the royals. And if it's good enough for Queenie, who's been tweeting @BritishMonarchy since 2009 (!), it's good enough for the youngsters, right?

The first tweet from @KensingtonRoyal(which already has over 22,000 followers) stated: 'Hello from Kensington Palace! Welcome to our new Twitter account.' As if that wasn't tantalising enough, we've already been treated to snaps of Harry standing on his tiptoes.Twitter gold, we're sure you'll agree.

Although it's likely the trio will have a team of minions to run the feed, they're expected to send their own tweets when attending royal events. And we don't have long to wait for the first KMiddy outing: the Duchess is due to visit Barlby Primary School tomorrow.

Will she share a snap of Prince George? We recommend you get following pronto.
