Cast your mind back to last October, when the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge headed out to Canada with their young children George and Charlotte, and you might remember one particularly striking sartorial moment from Kate. While attending an evening reception at Government House, the Duchess wore a red dress with a scooped neckline and full skirt, flying the flag for British fashion with a design by London label Preen.
Kate's fashion klout being what it is, the £990 gown from Justin Thorton and Thea Bregazzi's label sold out online almost immediately - and when the Duchess opted for the same 'Finella' dress in a different colour (black) for another event later in the year, that shade was promptly snapped up, too.

If you're still hankering after this particular royal-approved piece of classic eveningwear, however, you're in luck: for their latest high street collaboration with Debenhams, Studio by Preen, the designers have created an almost identical skater dress style, available in the same bold scarlet shade and costing just a fraction of the original price at £69.
While the neckline of 'Finella's high street doppelganger is a little more straightforward than Kate's favourite (it's more rounded and scooped), the full skirt, cinched waist and midi length are all clear nods to the Duchess's memorable outfit. We predict (another) sellout to be iminent...
