Not long after Prince William hit headlines when leaked footage showed him dancing into the early hours of the morning on a ski trip, and so missing the Commonwealth Day service, he and Kate began their two-day trip to Paris. They met with French President François Hollande to launch 'Les Voisins,' the celebration of 'cultural ties between the U.K. and France,' to ensure relationships are strong despite Brexit.

On Friday morning the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge celebrated St. Patrick's Day with the Irish guards in London. Kate wore a traditional ensemble - a dark green coat by Catherine Walker, the French-born designer based in London. With no time to change, they then flew to Paris to greet Hollande, Kate still in green.

For the reception at British ambassador’s residence in Paris, Kate opted for a black, belted Alexander Mcqueen gown with frayed edges.

It's no wonder that Kate chose to wear a gown by the British fashion house for the occasion; Sarah Burton, the creative director of Alexander McQueen, has dressed Kate numerous times for royal engagements, most notably she designed Kate's wedding dress back in 2011. Kate also wore Alexander McQueen recently when she and Prince William attended the BAFTAs.

For the evening's gala dinner at the British Embassy in Paris, Kate changed into a glistening ice blue embellished gown by Jenny Packham - another of Kate's favourite British designers. To accompany the already sparkling ensemble, Kate wore glistening heels by Oscar de la Renta and chandelier earrings on loan from Queen Elizabeth II.

Continuing their royal tour, Kate and Prince William then took a trip to city's most iconic landmark: the Eiffel Tower. Kate wore a red-and-blue dotted coatdress by Chanel which was clinched at the waist with a belt, and carried a quilted maroon Chanel bag.

The pair then watched the France vs Wales Six Nations Rugby match at the Stade de France stadium, and Kate opted for a pillarbox-red Carolina Herrera coat, which she also wore during the royal tour in Canada last September.
