Kate Middleton made her Royal Ascot debut in style earlier today, as part of the Queen's continued 90th birthday celebrations.
While the Duchess and her husband Prince William have previously received invitations to join the Queen in the Royal box at the annual horse racing event, this year they've taken Her Majesty up on her kind offer as a birthday surprise. As a dedicated fan of the races, Her Majesty has attended every Royal Meeting at Ascot since ascending to the throne in 1953.
Thanks to the strict dress code, fine-tuning the perfect races outfit can be a sartorial minefield, but Kate's midi length lace dress and elaborate headpiece passed with flying colours.
The Duchess's cream gown is by Dolce & Gabbana, and costs £2,415. Eagle-eyed Middleton fans might recognise it as the same dress she wore to the Queen's 90th birthday gala last month, layered under a red Zara blazer.
The Duchess offset her Ascot appropriate outfit with her trademark nude pumps and a chic boxy clutch bag.
It's been a busy week for the Cambridges, who played a key part in the Queen's 90th birthday celebrations over the weekend. The couple were joined by their two young children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, on the balcony at Buckingham Palace on Saturday.
