Have you ever experienced those moments at work when you've been asked to do something inexplicably, unimaginably boring and you have to use every fibre of your being to suppress an eye roll? Or a scowl? Perhaps your feelings are there – evident in your facial expressions – for everyone to see. Consider, then, studying the work of one Catherine Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, who has quietly been achieving the impossible without anyone even noticing.

That's right, world: Kate Middleton is the undisputed (as far as we know, anyway) Queen of Making Boring Stuff Look Like Real, Pure Fun. It is not, in fact, an official title. But it is one worth the appreciation of us all.

Regardless of your opinion of the monarchy, it is undoubtedly a challenge to live your life in the judgemental glare of the public eye. This is particularly true of those times when you experience your equivalent of the aforementioned work situation. For Kate, this could involve all manner of activities. Somehow, she manages to make even the most mundane tasks look like the most fun thing anyone has ever done.

If you're thinking this is a trivial approach to the Duchess' official work, then you would be right. But in this current world of political uncertainty, Brexit boredom and general melancholia, who doesn't want to see photographs of a grinning Kate Middleton as she's doing what are literally some of the most boring things imaginable? If your answer to that question is 'not me', then perhaps you should look elsewhere for your entertainment. For everyone else, you're welcome.
