What do you do when your brand new white dress gets an unsightly stain at the Met Ball? Take it to the dry cleaners?
Don't be silly. You just cut the stain off.
(Well, you do if you're Karlie Kloss).
In a hilarious, but frankly bizarre, series of videos posted to Snapchat and Instagram, Karlie was filmed standing in what can only be described as 'excited dismay' as a member of her fashion team cut off the lower half of her 'Cinderella' dress – with SCISSORS.
Now, we'll have to check our fairy tale facts here, but we're pretty certain Cinderella's dress gets slashed before the ball, not during it...
After telling the Snapchat camera she was doing a 'quick cut' of her dress, one of Karlie's dressing team then explained: 'You’ve got a wine stain, so I’ve got to cut it off. We're just cutting money.'
Oh...
Lest anyone thinks Karlie was happy with this idea, however, the 23-year-old model was heard bemoaning: 'We're cutting my dream Cinderella gown. Weeks and weeks making this dress...'
'We were going to change dresses for the after party,' she later explained, 'but instead we’re just cutting this dress.'
It makes sense. We suppose. Sort of.
In a seperate Instagram video, Karlie added, 'This is a bad idea, or maybe it’s brilliant. I don’t know,' but only after her dress-cutting helper had revealed: 'We're drinking – and cutting...'
It appears the sober light of day might reveal whether it was, in fact, a bad or brilliant idea.
Still, it makes a great story: Karlie wore a beautiful Brandon Maxwell gown to the Met Ball; and then she cut it up.
