Remember when Blac Chyna and Rob Kardashian were dating? Yep, it was a long time ago. The pair had a whirlwind romance in 2016 - shortly before becoming engaged and having a daughter, Dream - which was chronicled in their E! reality show, Rob & Chyna. But the second series of the show was scrapped after the pair explosively split - and in 2017, Blac Chyna filed a lawsuit against the Kardashian-Jenners, saying they were the ones behind the cancellation of the show.
That case has now, finally, come to court, with Chyna, Kris Jenner and her daughters Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian and Kylie Jenner appearing in court on Monday and Tuesday. Chyna is suing the family for £77 million, claiming the cancellation of the show meant she missed out on economic opportunities. Chyna is also suing Rob, but that case is now part of a different trial.
So far, the court has heard from Chyna’s laywer Lynne Ciani that Kris Jenner tried to cancel the show, by accusing Chyna of assaulting Rob. ‘Chyna went from being the star on E!’s number one hit show at $92,500 (£71,000) per episode to being off the airwaves entirely,’ the lawyer said. Ciani also claimed that other Kardashians spread the word about alleged abuse to people at Rob & Chyna’s network, and unaired footage from the show would prove that Chyna did not assault Rob
However, on the Jenner’s side, her laywer Michael G Rhodes has said that the show simply ended because the pair broke up - and that Chyna wouldn’t stop at anything to be part of the Kardashian family. ‘The evidence is going to show you that Miss White would say or do anything to be part of this family,’ he said.
Another key detail is that Chyna’s mum - Tokyo Toni - was banned from the courtroom on Tuesday morning, after appearing to publicly slate the Kardashians on Instagram (even calling Kris ‘decrepit’) on Monday night.
The trial - expected to last seven to 10 days - is expected to focus on different accounts about an argument which happened between Rob and Chyna on December 4 2016, and it’s thought all four Kardashian women are going to take the stand.
