Eek, not a great night for Kanye West. Apparently Kanye launched into a 25-minute verbal ranting attack (sans music) at Wireless and when the crowd couldn't take any more of it, they starting booing him off the stage.
The diatribe was mainly an attack against all the media attention he has received as of late. Kanye described the media as this: 'they control everyone was rumours and lies, they steal you from you and sell you back to you' (you might have to read that sentences a few times). He also attacked the media for their comments on 'public image, consumerism, self-esteem and his frustrations around trying to break into the fashion world' the Metro reported this morning.
He also spoke about determination and following your dreams, with the example being 'I told Kim seven years ago: I'm going to marry you' and I did'. (We don't think it was meant to be as creepy as it sounds?)
It sounds like Kanye was basically doing an 'in person' version of his famous Twitter rants when we writes in lots of shouty capital letters with no punctuation. Sometimes following Kanye on Twitter can be enough of an intense experience, and that's sitting behind a computer. At a festival when all you pay good money to dance and have fun (aka not be preached at) we're not surprised he got a few heckles.
