U OK Kanye?

He's not hunting aliens with Mark Zuckerberg, but things are getting weird in The Life Of Pablo…

U OK Kanye?

Kanye West might be no stranger to courting controversy – actually, scratch that, Kanye West is no stranger to courting controversy – but some of his most recent actions have made us a bit 'U OK hun?' when it comes to Yeezus/Pablo/Mr Kim Kardashian. Case in point:

He didn't vote in the US election, but he would have voted Trump

Last Thursday, during his Saint Pablo tour date in San Jose, Kanye announced: 'If I would have voted, I would have voted for Trump. I wanted to say that before the election, but they told me, "Whatever you do, don't say that aloud."' Apparently 'they' are not official advisors for the Kanye 2020 presidential campaign, rather Justin Bieber's manager, Scooter Braun, but Yeezy defied him anyway. 'There were are a lot of things I actually liked about Trump's campaign,' he continued. 'His approach was f**king genius – because it worked.' Needless to say, in the predominantly Hillary Clinton supporting San Jose area, Kanye found himself both booed and pelted with shoes. Probably not Yeezys, though – those things are hard to cop.

He's got beef with Bey and Jay

Another concert, another excuse for a rant, and this time Beyoncé and Jay Z bore the brunt of Kanye's moans. Three songs into his Sacramento show on Saturday night, the rapper claimed: 'Beyoncé, I was hurt, cause I heard that you said you wouldn't perform unless you won [MTV VMA] Video of the Year over me, over Hotline Bling… Jay Z, I know you got killers, please don't send them at my head. Just call me! Talk to me like a man!' Kanye, when that Hotline Bling, we doubt it's gonna be Jay Z. Soz.

He's still not over the Mark Zuckerberg thing

Remember when Kanye tweeted Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg asking for money back in February? Well, in the same tirade where he took on Beyoncé and Jay Z, Pablo ranted: 'Mark Zuckerberg, you wanna call me now? Do I got the vision, Mark Zuckerberg? Was you wrong? When I said I was $53 million in debt and you didn’t call me, was you wrong? You ate dinner, you asked my friend Ebony Schiller to have dinner with me. I told you about Donda. You said you would help and you didn’t. Then you went to look for aliens.' ICYMI, Zuck, Stephen Hawking and Russian entrepreneur Yuri Milner have set up the Breakthrough Starshot project, with the aim to find alien life on planet Proxima b. So Kanye hasn't lost it entirely, then.

He's just spent a wad of cash on concert ticket refunds

After announcing he's '53 million dollars in personal debt' earlier this year, you'd think Yeezy would be doing everything he could to recoup his losses – but no. Not only is he having to refund everyone who attended the aforementioned Sacramento show and didn't get their money's worth, but he also cancelled his Los Angeles show on Sunday night, which was already a make-up show for him walking off stage after losing his voice on 3 November.

His Insta game isn't so strong

Until Sunday, Kanye had only posted a single photo since joining Instagram nine weeks ago, but then he went on what we can only describe as the Insta version of a Twitter rant and posted 99 pics at the same time. Ninety-nine photos, but Kim ain't one, with Kanye instead choosing to upload low-res Maison Martin Margiela lookbook photos. As you do. Perhaps he's hinting at another Margiela collab in the future? Or maybe he just doesn't get how Insta works? Anyone would think Kanye wasn't part of America's first family of social media – here's hoping they give him some lessons soon.
