Kanye West is having a right shocker at the moment. Between slagging off his ex-girlfriend Amber Rose, writing misogynistic lyrics about Taylor Swift and putting on a performance/show/extravaganza so eccentric that we're still not sure what happened, it's pretty safe to say that the rapper has gone full egomaniac.
Now, he reckons he's in debt. And he wants billionaire Mark Zuckerberg to help because, if Zuckerberg's going to do stuff like build a school for African children, then surely he can do a little thing like invest a billion dollars in Kanye West and his plan to make the world 'dope'.
In yet another (sigh) Twitter tirade last night, Kanye claimed to be '53 million dollars in personal debt', that he can 'barely breathe' and doesn't 'have enough resources to create what [he] really can', which is a travesty because he is 'the greatest living artist and greatest artist of all time.'
Kanye then goes onto say that he knows we're 'tired of music controlled by money and perception'. Which, TBH, isn't high on my list of things to worry about. Not being able to afford to be able to buy a house, the cuts to mental health services, the Syrian refugee crisis; yes. Whether or not Kanye West has got enough money to rent out Madison Square Gardens, cover 500 models in clothes that look like they were rejected from a budget post-apocalyptical drama and dress his wife and her family in Balmain? Not so much. Tit.
The rapper then turns slightly desperate and internet scammer-y sounding in his approach to Mark. 'Mark Zuckerberg I know it's your birthday but can you please call me by 2mrw.' He also says he's open to recieving help from Google founder Larry Page. Which is nice.
He also accuses the internet billionaires of having mis-aligned prioirites; 'All you dudes in San Fran play rap music in your homes but never help the real artists... you'd rather open up one school in Africa like you really helped the country... if you want to help... help me...'
One school in Africa or one more Kanye West album - what would you guys rather?
