Okay, so the Canadian Prime Minister hasn’t been serenading the First Daughter (though recent pictures would suggest this wouldn’t be the worst situation Ivanka Trump could find herself in). Oh. No.

Justin Trudeau took Ivanka to a Broadway Musical, The New York Times report.

‘Random pairing?’ We hear you gasp. In fact, the new musical* ‘Come From Away’*, about welcoming foreigners, enforced a very important message:

As he introduced the play at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre, Trudeau said: ‘The world gets to see what it is to lean on each other and be there for each other through the darkest times.' The 9/11-themed musical is focused around 6,579 passengers who were found stranded after their planes were diverted due to the terrorist attacks.

What’s perhaps even more significant is the timing of this appearance. Ivanka and Justin’s ‘play date’ emerged at the same time as two federal judges have ruled a temporarily block on President Donald Trump's travel ban - citing Trump's statements about Muslims during the presidential campaign as part of their rulings.
